What’s Happened at The Lodge at Manito
Celebrating holidays and special occasions is an important part of life, especially as we grow older. Staying connected to family traditions, religious practices or cherished holiday celebrations is a wonderful way to share special time with friends, family and loved ones, while keeping special memories close at hand. It is a common concern for seniors who are moving into a senior community, like The Lodge at Manito, to worry about family traditions and holiday celebrations getting lost in the move. However, this is far from the case! The Lodge at Manito prioritizes holidays and special occasions because we understand how important the connection is between our residents and their traditions. In addition to the festivities put on by the senior community, families can help loved ones in senior communities celebrate holidays in many ways, such as:
- Help them decorate their living space
- Work together to think of crafts, meals or other creative ways to mark the occasion
- Arrange family gatherings or video chats to keep everyone connected
- Look at photographs of past family celebrations
The Lodge at Manito works closely with families to find ways to keep residents engaged on a daily basis, as well as during special holidays. These efforts pay off by creating a fun, inclusive atmosphere where residents bond over shared interests and each person can create a weekly schedule full of events to look forward to.
